Wolf Conservation Initiative
Conserving Wolf Populations in the Indian Subcontinent
Welcome to the Wolf Conservation Initiative! Here, the wolf's howl and the strength of their packs remind us of their long history of overcoming challenges. We invite you to join us in appreciating the world we share and supporting efforts to protect wolves and their natural habitats. Our main focus is on two wolf species: the Indian Wolf (Canis lupus pallipes) and the Himalayan Wolf (Canis lupus chanco), both native to the Indian subcontinent.
Our Mission
Vision
Our mission is to strengthen wolf and grassland conservation efforts in the Indian subcontinent by employing smart conservation practices; that include utilizing science, technology, and social science, fostering education, uniting conservation efforts, and promoting community stewardship and partnerships in conservation programs.
The vision is to restore the connection between people and 'nature,' by actively engaging in the everyday pursuit of understanding and rediscovering how to harmoniously coexist on our shared planet. Through continuous learning and unlearning, we aspire to contribute to co-creating a sustainable and interconnected future where all thrive in balance.
